Bolingo Hotel Abuja | NOT RATED BY KINGKNOWS

Bolingo Hotel Abuja also known as Bolingo Hotel & Towers, is a large city hotel at 777 Independence Avenue in Abuja’s Central Business District (CBD). Current listings identify it as a mid-range/3-star property, while some platforms classify it differently, so I would focus more on its actual facilities and recent guest feedback than the star label.

Location

One of Bolingo's biggest advantages is its central Abuja location. It is close to several government, business and recreational destinations:

  • Federal Secretariat — about 12 minutes on foot
  • National Assembly — about 2 minutes by car
  • Central Bank of Nigeria — about 19 minutes on foot
  • Millennium Park — about 18 minutes on foot
  • Abuja International Conference Centre — about 2 minutes by car
  • Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport — roughly 37 minutes by car, depending on traffic

This makes it particularly convenient for business travelers, government officials, conference attendees and visitors who want to stay around the CBD.

Rooms

Bolingo has a relatively large inventory, with Hotels.com listing about 280 rooms.

Available categories include:

  • Standard rooms
  • Superior rooms
  • Deluxe rooms
  • Executive rooms/suites

Room facilities reported across booking platforms include air conditioning, television with satellite channels, refrigerator, work desk, telephone, private bathroom, toiletries and room service. Some listings also mention safes and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Hotel facilities

Bolingo offers a fairly broad selection of facilities for a city hotel:

  • Outdoor swimming pool
  • Restaurant
  • Bar/lounge
  • Gym/fitness centre
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Free parking
  • Room service
  • Laundry/dry-cleaning services
  • 24-hour reception
  • Meeting/conference facilities
  • Business centre
  • Security
  • Air conditioning

The property reportedly has seven meeting rooms, which makes it suitable for meetings, conferences, corporate functions and other events.

Food and entertainment

The hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar/lounge, so guests can eat and relax without necessarily leaving the property. The pool area also gives the hotel a recreational component, and recent guest feedback has specifically mentioned the property being suitable for pool parties and events

What guests say

The feedback is somewhat mixed, and this is worth considering.

Tripadvisor currently gives Bolingo about 3.0/5 from 42 reviews, with individual scores of approximately 3.7 for location, 3.0 for rooms, 3.1 for cleanliness and 2.9 for service and value.

However, some more recent 2025 reviews are considerably more positive. One guest praised the new management, describing the room as clean and bright and saying that room service was prompt. Another recent reviewer praised the reception, meals, amenities and suitability of the property for events.

There are also older reviews reporting problems such as inconsistent hot water, towels, breakfast and electricity. Because these complaints are older, I wouldn't automatically assume they describe the hotel's current condition, but they do suggest that service consistency has historically been an issue.

Interestingly, the current Google listing for Bolingo Xperia Hotel shows 4.0/5 from 224 reviews, which is noticeably more positive than Tripadvisor's older review base.

Current price indication

For a current example, Google Hotels is showing about US$45 per night including taxes and fees for a 1-night stay on September 16–17, 2026. Hotels.com, however, has recently shown around US$71 nightly / US$77 total for another date. This demonstrates that the price can vary significantly by date, room type and booking platform.

So I would budget roughly ₦70,000–₦120,000+ per night as a broad planning range, rather than treating one online price as fixed.

Overall assessment

Bolingo's strongest point is its location. It gives you easy access to Abuja's CBD, government institutions, the National Assembly, the International Conference Centre and several attractions.

It is also a relatively large property with rooms, a pool, restaurant, bar, gym, parking and meeting facilities, making it more versatile than a small boutique hotel.

The main thing I'd be cautious about is consistency of service and room maintenance. Recent reviews suggest improvement under newer management, but the overall online reputation remains mixed.

My take: Bolingo is worth considering if your priorities are central location, facilities, events and reasonable pricing. If your priority is luxury, highly consistent service or a premium modern hotel experience, I'd compare it with higher-end Abuja properties before booking.

If you're comparing it with Afri Hotel Abuja, I can also give you a Bolingo vs Afri Hotel comparison covering room prices, location, rooms, pool, food, security, reviews and which one I'd recommend.
